Reddy Raw has been in business for over 50 years, servicing companies throughout the East Coast. They are a Master Distributor of frozen foods, responsible for many of the foods that you eat in diners and restaurants on the East Coast every day.
Recognizing that their company needed to evolve with current technology, Reddy Raw contracted Crucial Networking to bring their existing fax-based order system to the web.
Sales staff would travel to the customer with their order form filled with pre-selected, pre-approved choices the customer was able to order. The customer would fill out this form, and fax it to Reddy Raw, where office staff would manually key the order into the order system.
On a daily basis, data from the Reddy Raw “offline” system is synched with the website, providing real-time accounts receivable, items recently ordered, customer “call sheets” (items customer is allowed to order) and select other data. Customers can login from any web browser, and securely place orders online. Orders are written via a proprietary process to the offline servers. Items are immediately picked and shipped.
Launching in July of 2004, the system resulted in nearly $800,000 in online sales. The margin of error has been
eliminated, and sales staff have seen a shift in their responsibilities. They are now serving more as customer relationship managers and project managers, keeping customers happy, and assisting them with the order process. Another dramatic change that has occurred as a result of the system's implementation is that customers who ordered literally the same products for 20 years began ordering new products because it is easier for them to do so.
