I stumbled onto web development out of necessity. As a photography/illustration major at the University of Connecticut, I set out to create a web site to showcase my portfolio, in the hopes of landing a job out of college. I did, but not necessarily the job I had in mind: web production specialist.
My first jobs out of college were tremendously important, however. I was responsible for the slicing/coding of literally hundreds of web sites, of varying degrees of complexity. Having such a strong background in the actual development of web sites, I'm able to bring a bit of a unique perspective to design. I know (at all times) what I can/can't do visually, because I know & understand that I have to be able to actually build everything I'm designing.
The psychology of design is a driving force behind my work. Sound, modern design principles, color theory, understanding clients, their business, their goals, and their target audience, and applying knowledge gained from working on hundreds of successful web sites is what I do.
